About Me
Hi! My name is Nikhil Pothuru. I'm a software developer by trade currently working from the Bay Area. My first interest in programming started when I was in high school, but it really developed during college when I took my first Java programming class in freshman year of college. While it's been 5+ years since I first started programming, I'd be remiss in not mentioning that I'm still very much a novice to the whole thing. The great part is that development never gets boring, and over the years I've also fostered an interest for software's use across industries. The allure of problem solving, coupled with the far reaching impact of software, is what gets me excited to continue being a software developer.
Outside of software development, I have a fair deal of random, disconnected interests. At the top is my love for all things DC comics. I'm a huge DC comics nerd, and yes I did watch the 4 hour Zack Snyder cut which I thoroughly enjoyed. With the COVID-19 pandemic, I've decided to try something new and I got into long distance running. I took a small step toward the world of marathon running, and the goal is to eventually participate in an Ironman Triathlon.
Why did I start this blog?
Creating the blog has been an exercise in planning out my own interests in software development and what I'd like to explore in the coming years. At the time of writing this, I've been 3 years out of college. The thing that I've come to appreciate these past few years is that learning truly never ends, even outside the education system. As I continue to grow in this field, I've wanted to document my learning process and share the knowledge I encounter with others.
How can you get involved?
I view this blog as a two-way street. Hopefully, you find the posts on here interesting and quite possibly useful for your own learning journey. As a writer, I'm excited by the possibility of meeting new people that I can have great conversations with. I am available to contact at blackboxdemystified@gmail.com.
